While we were on vacation at the cottage, we went out to Cleveland to (among other things) tour the Steamship William G. Mather. Now, I like boats, but I didn't expect to fall in love with all the little details that were on the ship.

Bridget has gotten into her "story tapes". Brendan had some cassette/books from when he was a kid, but only a few with both the storybook and tape that match up. The other day on eBay, he came across an auction of some tapes and books some of which we had the book and not the tape and vice versa, plus some new ones that we didn't have yet -- like Mary Poppins.

They came today. And in a really awesome yellow ...

Visited In Stitches Needlework today. Had the kiddos with me, so I couldn't browse as much as I would have liked. I will for sure be going back. The floss selection was ridiculous! Two whole walls, plus cabinets. Can't wait to get my next projects organized so I can pick out colors!

This afternoon I had to go on a little adventure down K street to purchase a gift. I ended up right across the street from this little building, an old three story hold-out in between two larger buildings.

This little guy is where I went to get finger printed several years ago in preparation for some SSA clearance. I thought I had mentioned it here before, but searching for it gave me nothing.

Happy 4th of July!

We had some fun with Sparklers and other fireworks in the front yard this evening. Bridget was very delighted with them. My personal favorite was called "Purple Rain". And really, with a name like that, how could it not be awesome?!

Either I get better at coloring my hair myself or I accept going gray gracefully. After today, I don't think I'll be returning to a salon to have my hair colored. It took way too long. Cost way too much. And I am going back tomorrow to have them fix the highlights because they are not good. Bah. It's not totally terrible, but it's just not right.
