Since we got a brand spanking new iMac with a crazy big screen (TWENTY SEVEN INCHES!) I've been going through our zillions of photos and enjoying browsing through them without them being obscured by seven tiny one pixel wide lines. Yesterday was one of those days. A Terrible Awful No Good Day. Or at least, it ended badly. Bridget did not nap. Not a single wink. Boy did she need a nap, too. By three she was bouncing off the walls and driving us all crazy. Poor Johnny is working on a tooth and so he's been cranky and not wanting to sleep a whole lot and generally needy. Last year I joined an organization through work to take advantage of some published materials that they make available. It turned out to not be as useful as I'd hoped so I let my membership lapse. Occasionally, I get an email from the organization asking me to consider coming back, or asking why I haven't. I understand the need for them to send these emails, they make their money off of memberships. I just let them go to a special folder to be ignored and deleted later.

One night when I was about fourteen my brother who was around twelve got sick in an epic fashion. Vomit was everywhere. All over the wall of his bedroom and even inside the light switch. On Saturday we decided to play tourist and go into the city and visit the Natural History museum. Bridget requested a "dinosaur museum" and we hadn't been in a while.

When we travel, I go to great lengths to not stick out as a tourist. If I need a phrase book, I keep it in my purse and study it at night, in a bathroom stall or try and hide it under the table. Today I say goodbye to my inexpensive, but no-frills, cell phone service and join the ranks of those with smart phones. We decided it was time and this afternoon will be iPhone owners. I'm more excited than I should be. I've been hesitant mainly because of cost because really, what can compete with a $15 a month cell phone bill? You just can't. We spent the weekend away from the house visiting friends and family in Maryland. They got over 20 inches of snow, and it seems like we did here as well. When we left our friends' house yesterday afternoon there was a little slush on the first road, but everything else was almost 100% clear. (My parents live on a snow emergency route, so there was no question that it would be plowed.)

It's SNOWING!

And from the looks of it, it's going to be snowing for at least 24 hours. Oh, and we're here visiting Keith and Shade' for the weekend. I can't help but look for patterns in numbers. I think I've mentioned it before (I don't feel like looking for it) but my birthday is 8/25 and Bridget's is the reverse, 5/28. I love that. Bridget likes to take photos and we decided before to purchase a camera just for her. It didn’t last too long. Yesterday, we pronounced the camera officially done. It had been acting up – lens not retracting, flash not firing – and yesterday the screen went grey. So naturally, it was time to finally pull three months worth of pictures off the card and create a photo gallery just for her here.
