Brendan joined the party on January 2, 2004. He's cool now.

Jessica has never been cool. She is OK with that.

gone
It looks like the hillbillies have finally officially moved out of their house. This weekend they had a big moving van parked out front. The only annoying part was that the kids were all running around and being loud. Hopefully that was the last time.

I think that we're actually neighborless at this point. A few weeks ago the people who live on the other side of us made a few trips back and forth with a pickup truck and left a lot of bags of garbage on the curb and I haven't seen them since. There's no sign up though so I'm not really sure what the deal is.

I really don't think that Brendan and I are that terrible to live next to; hopefully it isn't us!

asleep?

stubborn
Bridget is currently sleeping sitting up. Sort of. She's sitting in her crib, falling asleep, and rocking forward, then she ends up waking herself up. It's like when you doze off in school, but when you fall asleep, you end up startling yourself awake. I think that now she's asleep with her head against the rails. Brendan and I are sitting here watching her on the video monitor. The other day she was standing and sleeping, so I suppose this is an improvement. She'll get the hang of it eventually.

I don't know how she got so stubborn! She certainly didn't get it from me. Or her father.

love
My 2nd most favorite DC United player has finally launched his site bobbyboswell.com. I'm most excited about [emphasis mine]:
A mission to have some fun, share insight into the lives of soccer players/professional athletes, discuss in detail the specimen known as Ben Olsen, promote charities and organizations that we work with, and give away some pretty sweet prizes. Oh, and be the star of spectacular video segments!

Good times.

I'm sad that we probably won't be going to too many matches this year -- since I don't think Bridget would really be too enthused. At least we'll be able to see them all on TV.

is this thing on?

I've been terrible at posting lately, I know. Things have been a little bit crazy around here at the Kelly household.

As you can see, Bridget is getting perilously close to walking. Not only is she pushing around her walker, but lately she's taken to forgetting that she's holding onto something and just standing there on her own, until of course she realizes that she's not holding onto anything and she promptly plops down on the floor. She had a pretty nasty cold this week that has almost finished running its course. I can't complain, really. It wasn't too bad, and it's only the second time that she's been sick. You could probably even call it the first time because the other was more likely a reaction to booster shots. Breast feeding really must be doing its magic.

Bettis is currently recovering from surgery on both his hip and his knee (on the same leg). He's doing OK. Right now he's pretty well sedated on pain medication and sleeping in a Pamper's box. Of course that means that he's not really making it to the special litter box we have set up for him. Something tells me we're in for a long week. I'm not really sure how things are going to go with me working since his recovery suite is in the office. It'll all work out, I'm sure.
